Pileated Woodpecker

Woodpeckers are the same size as a crow.

They have zebra-striped heads and necks, long bills, and distinctive red crests.

Woodpeckers forage for their favorite meal, carpenter ants, by digging large, rectangular holes in trees.

The birds typically choose large, older trees for nesting and usually live in a tree hole.

They make loud pecking noises when their bills pound into the tree trunk.

My grandma has lots of these in her yard. =]
